MSI GT780/DX, GT683/DX gaming NBs
What kind of weaponry do starship captains prefer when they find themselves in 3D games surrounded by trigger-happy aliens in powerful, photon-beam packing interstellar fighters? MSI's new generation G Series of gaming notebook computers, of course! These machines pack Intel’s blazing second generation Core i7 quad core processors, top-of-the-line nVidia discrete graphics cards, high-end Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound, and MSI TDE overclocking technology. All of this technology goes into the making of MSI's new generation GT780/DX and GT683/DX—the gaming laptops that starship captains everywhere ask for by name.
Meticulously crafted—the MSI GT780 and GT780DX
High performance display
3X bandwidth, 100% memory transfer efficiency: The technology architecture of nVidia's new generation GeForce GTX560M and GTX570M discrete graphics cards comes with transfer technologies that include memory and bandwidth with a 3X three channel design and 192 bits of bandwidth—ideal for MSI's new generation of powerful high-speed, G Series gaming books with three channels with 1.5GB of memory. The transfer bandwidth design with 192 bits ensures 100% transfer performance, so nothing is wasted.
Record-smashing, high-performance transfer: MSI's new generation GT780DX and GT683DX laptops sport the nVidia GeForce GTX 570M discrete graphics card, while the new generation GT780 and GT683 NBs pack the nVidia GeForce GTX 560M discrete graphics card which boasts 20% better performance over the previous generation. Furthermore, the GDDR5 display memory with 3-to-3 bandwidth to channel design and 1.5GB also boasts 192 bits, so memory really hums along, transferring 3D graphics and software with 100% efficiency, a vast improvement over the approximately 50% performance of 2GB memory with only 128 bits of bandwidth. When tested with 3D Mark Vantage, MSI new generation gaming laptops shattered previous records, topping out at over 12,000. They also support Microsoft DirectX 11 and nVida PhysX for realistic details, including cooler explosions.
MSI technology offers unparalleled visuals
Lag-free gaming
Intel 2nd gen Core i7 quad core CPU: The GT780, GT780DX, GT683, and GT683DX, MSI's new generation G Series gaming laptops, all feature Intel second generation Core i7 quad core processors with core speeds of up to 2.00GHz. To squeeze out higher performance, Core i7 processors have Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, a technology which automatically allocates processor resources in accordance with processor load, thereby enhancing the core speed of each core to maximize computer performance.
16GB of memory: MSI's new generation G Series gaming NBs are equipped with 4 DDR3 slots to provide a maximum of 16GB of memory. In addition, the G Series packs accelerated RAID 0 dual hard disk architecture which doubles storage capacity and revs up read-write speed by a factor of seven.
TDE overclocking: A truly awesome gaming machine doesn't stop at a high performance processor, when the photon beams are a-flying, you need overclocking to get you out of those tight spots. The new generation G Series features MSI's own Turbo Drive Engine technology (TDE). Simply depress the luminescent turbo hotkey located at the top of the keyboard to instantly throttle up system performance. In addition, one touch of another hotkey engages MSI’s Cooler Boost technology to rapidly cool down the system and enhance system stability.
The ultimate digital multimedia center
Cinema-grade Dynaudio sound: MSI joined up with world-class sound designers at Dynaudio in Denmark to carry out countless studies and calculations to determine ideal locations for installing speakers to obtain obstruction-free sound transmission, so G Series laptops can offer clean, crisp, faithfully reproduced stereo sound to maximize the gaming experience.
New generation gaming laptops pack top-end Dynaudio sound
THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound: Only MSI's G Series laptops feature THX TruStudio Pro cinema-grade wrap around sound that works in concert with the top-end internal speakers to reproduce faithfully any type of music and frequency band for a more lifelike sound experience.
Full HD multimedia enjoyment: MSI's new generation G Series includes the 17.3-inch GT780 and GT780DX and the 15.6-inch GT683 and GT683DX laptops which feature full HD screens and MSI Cinema Pro technology for a crisper, richer picture. The HD 720p webcam allows you to enjoy bright, true-to-life, hiccup-free conference calls with friends and family. If you prefer your HD films on a bigger screen, these G Series notebooks come with an HDMI slot, so you can hook up to LCD screens of any size.
The extras you want
Latest USB3.0 ports: The G Series gaming notebooks come with USB3.0 ports which boast transfer speeds of 4.8Gbps—10 times faster than USB2.0, so a 25GB HD video transfers in just 70 seconds. What’s more, it boasts 80% higher power transmission, providing vastly higher data transfer and charging speeds for external hard drives, thumb drives, and other handheld electronic devices.
ECO Engine: The G Series features MSI ECO Engine power-saving technology with five power management modes, including presentation, word processing, and turbo battery, automatically adjusts settings, like screen brightness, power, and sleep as well as processor performance, to significantly extend battery life.
i-Charger technology: The G Series also comes with MSI i-Charger technology which pumps more power through USB slots, so you can recharge devices up to three times faster. Now, while others sit around waiting for their mobile devices to recharge, you can be using yours.
MSI GT780 and GT780DX's SteelSeries gaming keyboard
SteelSeries gaming keyboard
Just plain cool looking: The exteriors of the MSI GT780 and GT780DX gaming notebooks make you feel like you are at the controls of a starship and the matte black aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis adds an extra touch of class. What's more, they come with metal brush finish with layered luster and SteelSeries gaming keyboards with five LED backlighting modes. When the battle fleet sounds the call to battle, you can switch on the LED lighting to enhance that futuristic feel.
SteelSeries gaming keyboard: MSI's GT780 and GT780DX notebooks feature SteelSeries gaming keyboards which are much tougher and offer much crisper feedback. The Windows key has been shifted to the right side of the keyboard and the Ctrl and Alt keys enlarged to greatly reduce the chance of hitting a wrong key in the heat of battle. If that wasn't enough, Steelseries also incorporated all-new backlighting technology into this cutting-edge keyboard. Simply hit the Gaming Mode hotkey at the top of the keyboard to turn on the LED backlighting on the left side of the keyboard and shut off the keyboard backlighting elsewhere, so you can find frequently used keys easily in the heat of battle.
Not just any gaming machines
The pride of any starship captain: If the GT780 and GT780DX can be compared to starships, then MSI's GT683 and GT683DX are intergalactic fighters with luminescent MSI insignia emblazoned in the centers of their raised black diamond covers. In addition, both sides of their screens have blood red LED strips that throb to the beat of music or the sound of battle. The GT683 and GT683DX are sheathed in MSI's own color film print to enhance them aesthetically, while protecting them from scratching and wear. They also come equipped with independent chicklet keyboards for a solid touch and to keep you from hitting the wrong keys as you blast your way from battle to battle through the galaxy.
Snazzy-the GT683 and GT683DX
Cool sound and visuals: When you're surrounded by death rays exploding about you in the vacuum of space, the LED light and sound technology onboard the GT683 and GT683DX serve to ratchet the excitement up a few notches. These rigs are trimmed with one-of-a-kind LED light strips that are activated by the beat of music or the sounds of battle. Simply depress the LED show hotkey and the lights on the left and right sides as well as the front of the chassis come to life to bring the excitement of your gaming to higher levels.
